Cristo Rey Jesuit Corporate Work Study Program, Inc. (CWSP) is seeking a Corporate Work Study Program Director to provide a best-in-class work experience to our corporate partners and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School students. 

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is an innovative, private, Catholic, and Jesuit high school serving students of diverse backgrounds living in Milwaukee, WI, whose educational options are financially limited. Cristo Rey Jesuit’s mission is to provide an affordable, Catholic, college-prep secondary education, a distinctive professional work experience, and personal spiritual development to prepare students for success in college, work, and life.  

ABOUT CRISTO REY JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL

Cristo Rey Jesuit (CRJ) Milwaukee is part of a national network of 41 high schools transforming urban education through a unique integration of college-preparatory academics, professional experience, and spiritual formation with a focus on students from limited financial means. As a private, Catholic, Jesuit high school serving 450 students, Cristo Rey Jesuit’s mission is to provide an affordable Catholic secondary education with a college prep curriculum and Corporate Work Study Program to prepare graduates for success in college, work, and life.  

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position has core managerial responsibilities over the three CWSP areas of Client Relations, Student Services, and Operations. The position will be a key contributor to the vision and overall goals of CWSP, leading the alignment, integration, and execution of the team’s work. This position will guide the team in implementing effective and efficient processes that lead to student success, client success, and positive financial results for the school. This position will maintain positive and collaborative relationships with students, school personnel, work study partners, and external Cristo Rey supporters while serving as a brand ambassador. This position will foster a cohesive team culture in collaboration with the VP of CWSP and support the professional development of each team member. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall Management

  • Leads the CWSP team and provides guidance, mentorship, and supervision for the day-to-day operations of the CWSP program. Delegates authority for decision-making appropriately while maintaining responsibility for all outcomes.
  • Contributes to the vision and development of the CWSP strategic plan and works with all members of the internal and external team to execute on its initiatives and events.  
  • Implements continuous improvement practices to improve process effectiveness and efficiency. 
  • Hires, manages, and evaluates the performance of CWSP direct reports.
  • In collaboration with the Vice President of CWSP, monitors CWSP financial results and operating performance and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Utilizes Salesforce.com and other systems to manage and maintain critical information on student outcomes and  the existing relationships within the client base.
  • With the VP of CWSP, ensures that critical relationships with stakeholders are maintained and, where possible, grown.
  • Supports the VP on all administrative and non-administrative tasks and initiatives associated with sales generation, new program development, jobs committee, and board deliverables.
  • Oversees student worker supervision, development and training, and evaluation.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Student Services

  • Manages student work preparation, such as job descriptions, freshman orientation, business pre-employment requirements, onboarding work, student performance evaluations, and Department of Labor compliance documentation.
  • Oversees the student placement process to ensure the best fit for work placements.
  • Oversees student timesheet, student discipline, student retraining,  student behavior management, student celebrations, Draft Day, student profiles, and CWSP calendar.
  • In alignment with the Vice President, guides the development and execution of Career Pathways (i.e., CNA, Education, etc) to enhance student and client success in collaboration with CWSP team, school personnel, College and Alumni team, and external partners (including businesses, industry groups, colleges, and public sector).
  • Responsible for upholding all CWSP policies as outlined in the policy handbook for student behavior,  up to and including recommendations for student dismissal.

Client Relations

  • Collaborates with the Vice President to build new student workplace opportunities within the client base and to maintain relationships with key personnel within current student work partners and placements. 
  • Under the Vice President’s direction, guides the client relationship management strategy as it pertains to employer partnerships, renewals, and upselling.  Includes “time in territory” management, client onboarding and supervisor training, CRM management, site visit compliance, and student engagement with employer assignments.  
  • Recommends, plans, and executes programs, events, or practices to drive partner retention and engagement.  

Operations

  • Oversees legal and policy compliance, safety protocols, and management of CWSP student records.
  • Oversees all aspects of student transportation, including van driver recruiting, hiring, training, and performance management, route planning, and student dismissal/pickup. Works with 3rd-party transportation providers as needed. Collaborates with Finance, Facilities, and school personnel on fleet management.
  • Oversees summer work and summer bridge programming.
  • Transports students to and from work as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or business-related field;
  • Proven managerial experience;
  • Strong relationship management experience, both internally and externally (across all levels of an organization);
  • Experience working in business or workforce development preferred;
  • Superior written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
  • Proficiency in Spanish is desired
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and efficiently as an individual in a fast-paced environment;
  • Technology skills desired for use of Salesforce, Power School, Google, and Excel databases;
  • Flexible and adaptable in a time-sensitive, task-based environment;
  • Commitment to the Mission and Values of Cristo Rey Jesuit Corporate Work Study Program;
  • Sensitive to the ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the student body;
  • Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
