Cristo Rey Jesuit High School Milwaukee is looking for a dedicated Robotics Assistant Coach to support students in their journey through competitive robotics. Working closely with the Head Coach, you’ll help ensure student safety, learning, and hands-on success as they build and compete with their robot.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Robotics Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to help students get connected with resources to support their safety, learning, and work on building a robot for competition. Our program relies heavily on the infrastructure and build-space at Milwaukee Robotics Academy (MRA) in Riverwest, so there are daily transportation considerations to get students from CRJ to MRA and back.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support two after-school parent meetings in September 2025
  • Become an approved driver for CRJ to help transport students to Milwaukee Robotics Academy (MRA)
  • Attend approximately half of the pre-season build sessions at MRA
    • Pre-season consists of ten 3-hour meetings from October – November 2025
  • Attend the launch day event (8 hrs) on January 10, 2026
  • Attend approximately half of the scheduled time for build sessions
    • 12 weeks of the build/competition season, from January – March
    • Monday-Thursday from 3:30-7pm and Sat from 9am-3pm (meals provided by the team)
  • Attend all competition weekends (1 possible scrimmage, 2 district competitions, dates TBD)
  • Assist with the award banquet on May 4th, 2026
  • Organize and attend at least two postseason robotics team meetings in April.
  • Support community-wide communications and promotion of the team
  • Support fundraising and outreach efforts of the team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Effective communicator and project manager
  • Experience with power and hand tools
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Basic computer programming skills preferred
  • Teaching experience is a plus
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Commitment to the Mission and Values of CRJHS
  • Desire to work with high school students
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
