POSITION: IT Helpdesk Associate
REPORTS TO: School Finance and IT Manager
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
SCHEDULE: Full-time, 12 month

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee is a private, Catholic, Jesuit high school serving students of diverse backgrounds living in Milwaukee, WI whose educational options are financially limited. Cristo Rey Jesuit’s mission is to provide an affordable Catholic secondary education with a college prep curriculum and Corporate Work Study Program to prepare graduates for success in college, work, and life. 

Overall Position Description

Under the supervision of the School Finance and IT Manager, the IT Helpdesk assists with managing school technology equipment, software systems, and data platforms. The position supports the collection, auditing, and reporting of system data while ensuring the school’s technology environment is efficient, secure, and responsive to user needs.

Job Summary

The IT Helpdesk ensures the continuous availability, security, and functionality of technology systems throughout the school community—including academic, finance, operations, admission, and advancement departments. Responsibilities includes user support, data reporting, software maintenance, and general IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain software on school devices, including routine system upgrades.
  • Assist in managing and supporting PowerSchool, including user accounts, security settings, calendar setup, and end-of-year processes.
  • Support integration between PowerSchool, WISEdata, and other third-party systems.
  • Provide training and support for school personnel on data systems and software tools.
  • Be available on-call for urgent technology issues, including outside regular hours.

Essential Functions

Software & Data Management

  • Assist the School Finance and IT Manager with overall SIS operations and act as a technical point of contact.
  • Train and support staff in the use of computer technology and related data systems.
  • Keep school leadership informed of software and technology issues.

IT Equipment Management

  • Setup new Chromebooks, laptop and IT equipment such as projectors, phones, etc..
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with data systems for internal and external users.
  • Prepare technical documentation, procedures, and reference materials.
  • Conduct data-related projects as assigned.
  • Attend trainings or conferences to stay updated on best practices and emerging technologies.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain inventory of copier consumables (toner, paper, etc.).
  • Support the maintenance of the school’s technology hardware inventory.
  • Stay informed about new technology trends relevant to school operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computers or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience 
  • Personal knowledge and alignment with Cristo Rey Jesuit High School’s Catholic and Jesuit mission
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management
  • Knowledge of Google Management System for a 1:1 student environment
  • The ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to improve projects and tasks. 
  • Able to analyze data, draw conclusions, make recommendations and develop action plans. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results oriented environment
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
  • Desire to work with high school students
  • Physical Requirements – Exerting twenty (20) to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally, or ten (10) to fifteen (15) pounds of force frequently to move objects.  Ability to lift 20 pounds.
