REPORTS TO: President
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: 12 months; Full-Time

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee is a private, Catholic, Jesuit high school serving students of diverse backgrounds living in Milwaukee, WI whose educational options are financially limited. Cristo Rey Jesuit’s mission is to provide an affordable Catholic secondary education with a college prep curriculum and Corporate Work Study Program to prepare graduates for success in college, work, and life.

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant to the President/Special Projects is responsible for:

  • Supporting the President’s office in managing the internal and external affairs of the school in the Milwaukee community
  • Communicating the school’s mission and work to internal and external audiences on behalf of the President
  • Executing strategy to build internal school staff culture
  • Special projects as assigned by the President

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Support for the President

  • Assist the President in managing the obligations of the President’s Office to facilitate timely responses to stakeholders
  • Communicate Jesuit, Catholic mission of school on behalf of President to internal and external audiences through meetings, e-newsletters, reports, and other communication platforms
  • Assist President in welcoming school visitors, preparing and accompanying President at internal and external meetings when necessary, and answering questions and meeting requests on behalf of President
  • Serve as key contact for Board of Directors relations, coordinating meetings, preparing essential documents for executive review, communicating regularly with directors, and maintaining board archives
  • Facilitate special projects in collaboration with President as necessary

Staff Culture and Internal Engagement

  • Collaborate with the President, Senior Leadership Team, and school staff to develop a plan to support staff culture
  • Research, plan, and execute activities with staff throughout the year to ensure staff feel appreciated, and assess effectiveness of culture building activities
  • Facilitate opportunities for the President to regularly engage with internal stakeholders, including staff, students, and families

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Commitment and capacity to serve and connect on a personal level with low-income, urban, minority students and families
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Experienced in the dynamics of Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit education
  • Willing to take initiative to engage stakeholders of school
  • Flexible with ability to multi-task
  • Commitment to the Catholic values of education, service, and social justice
  • Outstanding interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Energy and passion to build Cristo Rey model high school
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
