Director of Admissions
Betty Suarez, Director of Admissions, is a Nicaraguan native who immigrated to the United States at the age of three. She and her family lived in Florida before moving to Wisconsin at the age of nine, where she grew up on Milwaukee’s south side. Betty graduated from Alverno College with a bachelor’s in Community Leadership and Development with a minor in Adult Education. A year later, she attended Cardinal Stritch University and graduated with a Master of Business Administration.
Helping and empowering women, children and men is a passion for Betty. She has dedicated a significant amount of time in raising awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in the Milwaukee area. Another way that Betty has demonstrated her passion for others was in the several years she spent helping patients navigate the medical health system. Giving back to the community is important for her. To better help service her community, Betty is an active member in volunteering for numerous fundraising events and organizations that assist under-resourced families.
Working with students and being part of a school team has always been an interest for her. Education is power, and every child should have access to quality education. Cristo Rey’s mission drew Betty to be part of the leadership team to make it a great school and to help every student be placed in an environment where they can be successful in both school and life.
Betty enjoys being outdoors, having fun with her family and listening to music.
