POSITION: Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Operations
SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (Flexible schedule)

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Milwaukee is a private, Catholic, Jesuit high school serving students of diverse backgrounds living in Milwaukee, WI whose educational options are financially limited. Cristo Rey Jesuit’s mission is to provide an affordable Catholic secondary education with a college prep curriculum and Corporate Work Study Program to prepare graduates for success in college, work, and life.


Under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Operations or his/her designee, the Receptionist will be responsible for maintaining a professional main office environment, greet and appropriately direct all visitors, and data input in to school databases and other related duties as assigned.


The Receptionist will assist in providing a welcoming, professional and efficient Main Office for the entire High School community, including the school, the business and advancement departments. Specifically, the Receptionist will be responsible for, but is not limited to:

  1. Warmly and promptly greeting and appropriately directing all visitors
  2. Ensuring a welcoming, orderly, and professional main office environment
  3. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations or the Principal


  • Properly, warmly, and efficiently greets and announces all visitors as well as answers and properly directs all incoming phone calls
  • Assists and maintains a welcoming and efficient Main Office that emphasizes organization, professionalism, courtesy, discretion, flexibility, friendliness and teamwork
  • Provides assistance to and communicates effectively with the director of finance and operations, principal and all school staff
  • Collaborates with staff and faculty teams, as requested by the Director of Finance and Operations and/or the principal.
  • Assists with daily communication to and from families
  • Sorting, opening and distributing school mail; manage outgoing mail and postage
  • Assists with the correspondence and maintains student files, including all immunization, medical and personal forms for students
  • Assists with mailings, copying, and preparation of materials for Cristo Rey Jesuit High School’s marketing office and other school offices
  • Enters and updates all necessary information into PowerSchool
  • Assists with staff communication
  • Provides support with special events, including preparation of materials, ordering of supplies and services related to events, and coordination of persons involved (volunteers, vendors, staff members, visitors, consultants)
  • Assists at events directly related to school activities as needed
  • Assists in running various reports, including progress reports, attendance reports, behavior reports, formal report cards
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations and/or Principal


  • 3 years of experience in receptionist responsibilities preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure a high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to consistently maintain a warm, welcoming presence to a range of stakeholders, even in a fast‐paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to work in a fast‐paced environment with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal skills; bilingual in English and Spanish required
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and efficiently as an individual
  • Ability to use good judgment and to manage and impart information to a range of stakeholders
  • Proficient in PC applications and other electronic/web‐based equipment
  • Highly proficient in the use MS Office Suite, desktop publishing, calendar and other software applications as needed
  • Experience with PowerSchool software is preferred

  • Ability to communicate well with both Cristo Rey Jesuit students and parents
  • Sensitivity to the ethnic, racial and religious backgrounds of the student body
  • Ability to work flexible hours within a 40 hour work week as needed
  • Ability to work in a faith‐based organization
  • Valid driver’s license; must be insurable with good driving record
  • Physical Requirements ‐ Ability to lift 25 lbs.
